The Concert Band is a performing organization that plays a variety of musical styles while developing instrumental technique and musical literacy. Requirements for this course include four concerts and performance at the District Music Festival. Members of this group may participate in the LCHS Pep Band, an extra-curricular organization that performs at football, volleyball, and basketball games. Open to grades 9-12. |

LCHS SELECT CHORUS
(10-12) 1 credit 1 year LCHS Chorus
Instructor consent
The Select Chorus is a performing organization that is limited to 16 singers ( 8 men and 8 women). This choir sings advanced music in a variety of styles and performs more often than the LCHS Chorus. Consent of the instructor AND previous enrollment in the LCHS Chorus is required. Students can also sing in both choral groups. Interested students must audition first to join this group. Requirements for this course include four concerts and performance at the District Music Festival. Open to grades 10-12. |

MUSIC WORKSHOP
(9-12) 1 credit 1 year Instructor Consent
Music Workshop shows progressing musicians how to manipulate music. Introducing basic concepts of orchestration, music theory, and improvisation, students create and perform original arrangements written specifically for this class. Other topics covered are digital recording and microphone techniques. Students use Finale, the industry standard notation software. Open to grades 9-12. |
